Have you seen Microsoft Bing’s new clever website called the “Magical Holiday Calendar”? If not, go visit The Bing Magical Calendar. You should definitely take a peek, not only because of the cleverness and how I think it incorporates Bing but if you’re looking to keep thin, this is the perfect way to count down to the Holidays (even the Jewish people included) as a true GEEK and now save some cash and calories as you don’t have to get yourself or your kids (should you have them) those Chocolate Calender that you “push” every day for chocolate that is awful. Sure they’ll be upset but heck, it’s for their own good, right?
So, is this how the Bing team is fighting to help keep you, maybe kids and even grown adults fit? I doubt it. However it is enough to get you to at least check out Bing.com if you’ve never seen/used it before, as most people who finally do visit Bing.com do like that the front page as it always has a random photo with some information or “fun facts” if you will.
Also, it seems the Bing Rewards is back or maybe I just didn’t see it for a while? In any case, I have started to use it and when you do use it you immediately get a set of points (20 or 40?) and the more you search for stuff you normally would on Google, you can actually have a reason to really use Bing, since Microsoft/Bing is now rewarding you and why not? These Search Engines make a butt load of cash from each page being monetized of Ad’s that flood our faces but Bing is trying in a very small way to give back with prizes (Microsoft Xbox LIVE Subscriptions) to gift cards (Restaurants, Amazon.com, etc…).
So, why not try Bing for this Holiday Season as you may be pleasantly surprised and if you’re getting a small kickback for doing what you’d be doing on Google, why not? Remember, Google and Bing have the same content (for the most part) but may not always be placed the same as each has their own Algorithms/Meta Search that make their output of information unique. In the case of shopping around for deals for someone, you know the product/brand so you don’t need good Ol’ Google for this.
Happy Holiday’s, if you don’t come back, I surely wish you the best binging holiday(s) you ever had. Be safe, think before you search and remember do not install that “Search Bar” that’s going to give you secret coupons to the best recipes in the world as you’ll surely have an internal epic shutdown from the chaos you’ll encounter.
