Microsoft Research Logo If you didn’t catch my recent Microsoft Research article over at LockerGnome.com, go check it out. However, today for those of us who hate having to play 2-Player games due to the split screen, well, read on,  maybe a future cure?

Over at MR, they’ve been dabbling with the Doppler Effect to detect Gestures. They’re realizing more and more people play games together and one of the worse things are the split screens as they can be confusing which side or top/bottom of the screen you are. With LCD detection, they’re working on making one screen to work like two using Concurrent Dual View.

So prepare for some new gaming and a whole new view on multi-player modes. Gaming on one screen is truly going to be exciting and maybe even opens the door for 4-player games and depending on which side, it’s a split screen for 2 players. I am not a gamer but I may even take part in this as it just continues to get more and more exciting.
